DNSplay
Like BGPLay, but for DNS!
Visualize DNS name-to-IP changes, with time-stamps & name of organisations hosting ALL the different possible combinations: name-registrar, IP address "LIR" / end-User; ASN that announces the IP range; reverse-DNS provider. Use cases: historical changes of ownership due to mergers etc; political takeovers; troubleshooting incidental outages; etc!!

Christian Teuschel AdminDear Vesna,
Thank you for your feature suggestion - very interesting!
We keep the feature request for four weeks "Under Consideration" to give other users time to provide input at an early stage, after that we get back with more details regarding further steps.
Best regards,

Stéphane BortzmeyerWhat would be the source of information? For BGPplay, it is the RIS but for the DNS? The resolvers at the RIPE-NCC office? An european operator which agreed to let the RIPE-NCC access its data?
I suggest to see the existing Passive DNS database before embarking in such a project (which is quite heavy). For instance https://www.circl.lu/services/passive-dns/
For instance, think about the amount of data: it can be larger than BGP quite fast with rapidly changing DNS info. -

Christian Teuschel AdminSince this feature request requires substantial efforts of UI development we like to postpone the decision on this feature to be made after the assessment of the efforts necessary to revamp BGPlay. We hope this is understandable.
